Changes to FAB’s Working Week

Following the UAE authorities’ announcement that government entities will adopt a Monday to Friday working week, and in accordance with directives from the Central Bank of the UAE, we are informing you that First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) UAE will support the UAE leadership in aligning our business days with this change.

Starting from Monday 3 January 2022, our Operations, Client Services Counter and call center will adopt a Monday to Saturday six-day working week.

Starting from Monday 3 January 2022, to facilitate Trade and SCF needs for our clients, our Operations and Client Services Counter will follow a full five-day week – Monday to Friday.

With this change, all the existing currency cut-off times and operating hours including other terms and conditions as applied to your account will remain unchanged. All our services including our digital banking channels will continue operate without any interruptions.

We will continue to monitor and review the impact of the new business timings through 2022 and will fine-tune our policies where appropriate.

What are FAB’s new working days?

Starting Monday, 3 January, FAB branches will be open six days per week, Monday to Saturday. Branches will be closed on Sundays. Office-based functions will follow a full five-day working week, Monday to Friday as standard, with a two-hour break on Friday so employees can attend prayers.

Why are we changing our working days?

We are amending general office and branch working days following the UAE’s decision to adopt a Monday to Friday working week for government employees, and in accordance with official guidance to the banking sector. In adopting the new working week, FAB is supporting the UAE leadership’s ambition to better align the nation’s economy with global markets. We believe this decision will boost investment opportunities, bringing economic benefits to the UAE and facilitating trade and investment.

What are the FAB branch opening hours?

Commencing Monday 3 January 2022, FAB Branch opening times will be as follows:
    Standard branches:
  • Monday to Thursday: 8am to 2pm
  • Friday: 7.30 am to 12.30 pm
  • Saturday: 8am to 2pm
  • Sunday: Closed
    Mall branches:
  • Monday to Thursday: 10am to 10pm
  • Friday: 4pm to 10 pm
  • Saturday: 10am to 10pm
  • Sunday: Closed

How did FAB determine its new working hours?

Our proposed working hours will ensure we continue to provide the best possible service to our customers and to our community as part of this transition, and are consistent with the emerging industry standard for the UAE banking sector as well as for the private sector generally.
