FAB celebrates Emirati Women’s Day 2018

Abu Dhabi, 28 August, 2018: First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the UAE's largest bank and one of the world's largest and safest financial institutions, celebrated Emirati Women’s Day today, which is being held under the theme ‘Women on the Course of Zayed’ for 2018. The celebration was attended by the bank’s senior management and employees.

The event was inaugurated with the UAE’s national anthem and included a special talk on women’s empowerment in the UAE by renowned author, professional speaker and educator, Hanan Al Sammak.

Commenting on the occasion, Noora Al Reyasi, Head of Learning and Talent Development, Emiratisation and Internal Communications at FAB, said: “Emirati Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments and capabilities of women, which have helped to shape the development of the UAE in line with the vision of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and with the support and guidance of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The occasion recognises the vital contribution of women across all aspects of our society, and inspires younger generations to follow in the footsteps of today’s female role models.”

She concluded: “In recognition of their fundamental contribution, we are delighted to be launching an initiative designed to provide Emirati women with opportunities to pursue their professional aspirations alongside their familial responsibilities. This programme will mark an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance female participation across the banking and financial services sector, and support the UAE’s objective to strengthen the role of women in the country’s continued growth and development. Through this programme, which will be launched in the Northern Emirates, FAB will be working to support Emirati women in developing the skills and capabilities needed to excel in the industry and grow stronger.”
