By interacting with us, submitting information to us, or signing up for any products or services offered by us, you agree and consent to First Abu Dhabi Bank Mainland China ("FAB China") as a branch of First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC ("FAB PJSC"), and their related corporations (collectively, the "Companies") as well as their respective representatives and/or agents ("Representatives") (the Companies and Representatives collectively referred to herein as "FAB", "us", "we", or "our"), collecting, using, disclosing, and sharing amongst themselves your personal information, and disclosing such personal information to FAB's authorised service providers and relevant third parties in the manner and for any of the purposes set forth in this policy. This policy will also provide you with more information about the basis upon which we may lawfully collect, use, and/or disclose your personal information without your consent, where permitted by applicable law.
We are committed to providing the highest level of privacy and security regarding processing of our customers' information via FAB China's website.
This policy supplements and does not supersede or replace any other consents which you may previously have provided to us, nor does it affect any rights which we may have at law in connection with the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information. Any consents you provide in connection with this policy are cumulative and in addition to any rights we may have under other arrangements or applicable law in connection with your personal information.
Use of the FAB Websites is subject to our Terms of Use and any products and services supplied are subject to our Terms and Conditions.

Personal Information
"Personal Information" refers to all kinds of information, record electronically or otherwise, related to identified or identifiable natural persons, excluding information that has been anonymised.
Personal Information comprises all the details that FAB collects and processes directly or indirectly about you as a representative of a corporate client, including information received from third parties and information collected through use of FAB Website, cookies or other similar tools and our electronic banking services.

In the event of any inconsistency between different versions of this policy, the Chinese version shall prevail.
Generally, we collect personal information in the following ways:
- when you submit any form to us, including without limitation via the FAB Websites;
- when you use our electronic banking services, other services or features on our websites or platforms (such as the FAB Websites), or interact with us via such websites or platforms;
- when you enter into any agreement or provide other documentation or information in respect of your interactions and transactions with us, or when you use our services;
- when you interact with our staff and Representatives, for example, via telephone calls (which may be recorded), letters, fax , face-to-face meetings and email;
- when you use our services via mobile, web applications and other technology platforms, such as the FAB Websites, including when you establish any online accounts with us;
- when you request that we contact you, be included in an email or other mailing list, or when you respond to our request for additional personal information, our promotions and other initiatives;
- when you are contacted by, and respond to, our marketing representatives and agents and other service providers;
- when we seek information about you and receive your personal information in connection with your relationship with us, including for our services, for example, from business partners, public agencies, your ex-employer and the relevant authorities;
- when you share comments or feedback with us (such as via the FAB Websites); and/or
- when you submit your personal information to us for any other reason.
If you provide us with any personal information relating to a third party, by submitting such information to us, you represent to us that you have obtained the consent of such third party to you providing us with their personal information and for the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information for all purposes set out in our herein and by or for the benefit of the persons referenced herein.
You should ensure that all personal information submitted to us is complete, accurate and correct. Failure on your part to do so may result in our inability to provide you with any products and/or services you have requested.
Subject to applicable law, you hereby agree that your personal information may be disclosed for any of the purposes listed in this policy to the following persons (who may be located in Mainland China or overseas):
- our group companies, third party service providers, and business partners;
- other banks, credit card companies, financial institutions, and their respective service providers;
- any investor, assignee or transferee (actual or prospective) to facilitate business asset transactions (which may extend to any merger, acquisition or any debt or asset sale) involving any of the Companies;
- our professional advisors such as our auditors and lawyers;
- relevant government regulators, government ministries, statutory boards or authorities and/or law enforcement agencies, to comply with any directions, laws, rules, guidelines, regulations or
- schemes issued or administered by any of them;
- external business and charity partners in relation to corporate promotional events; and/or
- any other party to whom you authorise us to disclose your Personal Information to.
These arrangements may involve your personal information being located or transferred in various countries around the world including the United Arab Emirates where FAB has its head office.
You should be aware that different privacy laws may apply in these countries, and the personal information obligations and rights may differ from any laws that may apply in the country where you are located. FAB China will always strive to adopt the highest standards of privacy protection wherever your personal information is located or transferred.
Our privacy policy does not apply to third-party websites where our online advertisements are displayed or to linked third-party websites which we do not operate or control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites operated by third parties that are linked to our website. Once you have left our website, you should check the applicable privacy policy of the third party website to determine how they will handle any information they collect from you.
Generally, we collect, use, and/or disclose your personal information for the following purposes:
- Processing applications for products and services, effecting payments, transactions and completing instructions or requests
- Providing products and services (including electronic banking services)
- Acting in accordance with your instructions, completing your transactions, or otherwise as necessary to facilitate your interaction with us and/or third parties
- Responding to, processing, and handling your queries, requests, feedback, and suggestions, and to provide customer support
- Assessing customer suitability for products and services
- Credit assessments, including conducting credit checks and setting credit limits
- Establishment, continuation and management of banking relationships and accounts
- Conducting market research and surveys with the aim of improving our products and services, and/or analysis for statistical, profiling, or other purposes for us to design our products and services, understand customer behaviour, preferences, and market trends, and to review, develop, and improve the quality of our products and services
- For marketing purposes and promotions, including without limitation organising promotional events
- For the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of crime (including without limitation, money laundering, terrorism, fraud and other financial crime) in any jurisdiction, identity verification, government sanctions screening and due diligence checks, and analysing and managing commercial risks
- To provide media announcements and responses
- To comply with local or foreign law, regulations, voluntary codes, directives, judgements or court orders, agreements between any member of the FAB group and any authority, regulator or enforcement agency's policies, reporting requirements under financial transaction legislation and demands or requests of any authority, regulator, enforcement agency or exchange body
- To seek professional advice, including in connection with any claims, actions, or proceedings, whether ongoing or prospective, including without limitation drafting and reviewing documents, obtaining legal advice, facilitating dispute resolution, and/or protecting, enforcing, exercising or defending legal rights
- Managing and preparing reports on incidents and accidents
- To ensure the safety and security of FAB premises, staff and visitors, including the protection of our facilities and assets.

- Management of personal information rights exercised by an individual
- Ensuring security of information systems, and consequently preventing, detecting, and avoiding any information security incidents, sometimes through cookies
- Monitoring and improving the FAB Websites and its contents including:
- To analyse the behaviour of Internet users with cookies, in order to optimize and personalize, if necessary, the pages of the FAB websites; and
- To carry out statistics of visits and use of Bank website with cookies
- Managing our administrative and business operations and complying with internal policies and procedures
- Facilitating business asset transactions (which may include mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales) involving any of the Companies
- Matching any personal information held which relates to you for any of the purposes listed herein
- Any other purpose relating to or reasonably necessary for any of the above, where such processing is permitted under applicable law.
These purposes may apply even if you do not maintain any accounts with us, or have terminated such accounts.
In addition, depending on the nature of our relationship, we may collect, use, or disclose your personal information for the following additional purposes:
- If you submit any application to us as a candidate for employment: (i) conducting interviews; (ii) processing your application which includes pre-recruitment checks involving your qualifications and facilitating interviews; (iii) providing or obtaining employee references and for background screening; (iv) assessing your suitability for the position applied for; (v) processing staff referrals; and/or (vi) any other purposes relating to any of the foregoing
- Any other purpose relating to or reasonably necessary for any of the above, where such processing is permitted under applicable law
In relation to particular products or services or in your interactions with us, we may specifically notify you of other purposes for which we collect, use and/or disclose your Personal Information. If so, we may collect, use and/or disclose your Personal Information for these purposes as well.
We encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to enable us to update any personal information we have about you. Incomplete or outdated personal information may result in our inability to provide, or delays in providing, you with products and services you have requested, or processing any requests and applications you may have made to us.
We will process your personal information (such as information collection, storage, use, analysis, transfer, provision, disclosure) based on your consent. To the extent allowed by laws and regulations, we may process your personal information without your consent under the following circumstances:
- where it is necessary for entering into a contract or the performance of a contract to which you are the party;
- where it is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject;
- where it is necessary in order to protect your or others’ vital interests related to life and property in an emergency or respond to public health emergencies;
- where it is within reasonable limits in order to carry out news coverage or media supervision for the public interest;
- where it is within reasonable range according to law to process the information which has been legally made public or publicized by yourself; or
- other circumstances stipulated by laws and regulations.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may record and monitor your communications with us to ensure compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations and our internal policies. This may include the recording of telephone conversations.
The security of your personal information is important to us and FAB has invested significant resources to protect the safekeeping and confidentiality of your personal information. When using external service providers, we require that they adhere to the same standards as FAB China. Personal information may be transferred or stored at a location outside of your country of residence. Regardless of where your personal information is transferred or stored, we take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that personal information is kept secure.
The Internet is not a secure form of communication and sending and receiving information over the Internet carries with it risks including the risk of access and interference by unauthorized third parties. Information passing over the Internet may be transmitted internationally (even when the sender and recipient are located in the same country) via countries with weaker privacy and personal information protection laws than your country of residence. We do not accept responsibility or liability for the confidentiality, security or integrity of your personal information in connection with its transmission over the Internet.
Your personal information may be retained by us for as long as the purpose for which it was collected remains served or until it is no longer necessary for any other legal or business purposes.
After the completion of purpose for which the personal information was collected, and when retention is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes, your personal information will be deleted or securely anonymised.
Subject to applicable law, regulations and/or banking industry guidelines, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information processed in relation to you.
The rights that you can invoke may include:
- Right of Access
You have the right to obtain from FAB, confirmation as to whether personal information concerning you is being processed, and, where that is the case, access to personal information and the supplementary information that helps you to understand how and why we are using your information, and check that we are doing it lawfully.
- Right to Correction
You have the right to obtain from FAB without undue delay the correction of inaccurate personal information concerning you.
- Right to Withdraw Consent/Opt-out
You can withdraw consent for any processing that we do based on your consent in relation to your personal information. If you withdraw your consent, it will not affect the lawfulness of any processing of your personal information we conducted based on your consent prior to you withdrawing that consent.
You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you, except in specific cases provided by law.
If you believe that your personal information has been collected, used or disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL). Please note that you are entitled to lodge a complaint with the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), concerning FAB’s compliance with the applicable data protection laws and regulations.
- Right to Data Portability
You have the right to request FAB to transfer the personal information you have provided to FAB to a third party designated by you. However, this right can only be exercised in specific circumstances as stipulated by Chinese law
- Right to Erasure
Except in very specific cases where provided by law, you have the right to obtain from FAB the erasure of personal information concerning you without undue delay where one of the following grounds applies:
- the personal information are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed;
- you withdraw your consent on which the processing is based and there is no other legal ground for the processing;
- you object to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing;
- the personal information have been unlawfully processed;
- the personal data information to be erased for compliance with a legal obligation to which FAB is subject;
We may charge a reasonable fee for processing a complex or excessive personal information access request, or we may refuse to act on a request where it is manifestly unfounded, repetitive, or would infringe upon the rights and interests of others.
FAB reserves the right to cease the processing of personal information when the storage period provided by any law or regulation has not expired, or it is difficult to erase personal information technically.
FAB operates channels, pages and accounts on some social media sites to inform, assist and engage with customers. We may monitor and record comments and posts made on these channels about FAB so that we can improve our services.
Please note that you must not communicate to FAB through such social media sites the following types of information:
- confidential personal information, including any information regarding your financial situation, bank account details, transactions, etc.;
- sensitive personal information including any information revealing biometrics, religious belief, information on specific identifies, medical information, financial account information, information on the whereabouts of a person, as well as the personal information of a minor under the age of 14 years.
- excessive, inappropriate, offensive or insulting information towards individuals.
We are not responsible for any information posted on those sites other than information we have posted ourselves and we do not endorse the social media sites themselves or any information posted on them by third parties.

Please note that if you withdraw your consent to our collection, use, and/or disclosure of your personal information for any or all the purpose set out above, depending on the nature of your request, we may not be in a position to continue to provide products and/or services to you (including without limitation the FAB Websites). This may also have implications for your contractual relationship with other parties. Our legal rights and remedies in such event are expressly reserved.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may, in our absolute discretion, update this privacy policy from time to time, and may notify you of such updates via any means we deem appropriate. To the maximum extent permissible under applicable law, you agree to be bound by the prevailing terms of the policy as modified from time to time.
